Ac-225 and Ra-225

Ac-225 and Ra-225 from U-233 or Th-229

The ability to separate Ra-225 and Ac-225 from a U-233 or Th-229 source. This will simplify the acquisition of Ac-225 from its parent isotopes.

Existing Process / Technology

The existing process at the DOE starts with legacy U-233. From this, Th-229 is extracted. Ac-225 is extracted from the Th-229.

U-233 > Th-229 > Ac-225.
